DIY Spring Wreath

I have a serious love of buying/having/using yarn!  I have an entire basket FILLED with leftover yarn from projects that I have completed.  Every winter I get in the mood to make blankets, scarves, headbands, hats, stockings, and basically anything that I can easily make in the car line. (my favorite project this past winter was this pom pom garland!)

I usually end up packing up my yarn basket with the holiday decorations and then bring them out again next winter when I am in the mood to create with them again.  This year I accidentally forgot and they have just been begging for a spring project.

What you will need to make this super easy wreath is.....

-Leftover yarn that you may have, or purchase a few colors that you love together. (no need to be concerned with the thickness, brand, feel of yarn! I think it is fun to mix the textures up)
-Styrofoam wreath in the size of your choice
-Scissors

I just cut random lengths of yarn and began wrapping. If you like the look of the different thickness of each color, mix the lengths.  If you prefer more of an even striped look, you will want to cut each color the same length.  (the thinner yarn will need a little longer because it will not cover as much space as the thicker yarn)

It does not need to be a super tight knot because the yarn sticks VERY well to the Styrofoam wreath.  You will just place it where you want it and wrap away.  I had to overlap a little with the thinner yarn and really liked the look of it.

Once you have covered the entire wreath, you will want to add a loop of yarn so that you can hang it to your desired length.  I decided to add little pom poms to give it a little more of an impact.

I am LOVING spring colors right now!  My mantel just brightens up our house and I think I may be adding more pops of color this spring/summer!

I can't get enough of all the colors here! (for me, this is HUGE because I usually ONLY add blues and grays to my house for some reason!)

I also added my all time favorite flowers, hydrangea to basically each room of my house, and I may need to budget these babies into my weekly grocery trip!

Hope you all are enjoying the crisp Spring weather! It was super hot last week in Florida, but this past weekend was nice and chilly and really felt amazing!

Spring Break StayCation

Spring break is my favorite! A chance to get to hang out with the kids for an entire week, the weather is beautiful, and then they go back to school and the routine begins again.  I LOVE a good routine....but the quick break is always welcome!

This year Chad took off the entire week and planned a little stay-cation!  It was WONDERFUL!!!!!
Nikes (Also check the Nike outlet! Chad surprised me with these!)

We started our weekend out with Baseball....of course!  I honestly LOVE baseball games because they are pretty relaxing.  Feet up, lots of cheering to do, and I get to hang out with the other parents.

Kacey went to a sleepover with her best friends, and I got to go on a date with my two favorite boys! I felt like a 3rd wheel the entire time because these two really and truly are the best of friends! They are basically the same person, and I am TOTALLY okay with that!  They always say to marry a man that you wouldn't mind having a son exactly like.....and I am pretty sure I hit the jackpot!

Don't mind me.....I will just be standing behind the twins snapping pictures!

On Monday, Chad surprised Collin by taking him to a Washington Nationals game!  Collin is OBSESSED with Bryce Harper and all things dealing with the Nationals so this was a HUGE surprise!  They got there early and they were able to get a few autographs, and a "smile and wave" from Harper.  Collin is still on cloud 9 after this big day!

We generally go to Orlando for the day and hit up a park.....drive home....and crash!  This year we decided that we didn't want to go to any parks....and wanted to stay in a nice hotel that offered everything! Chad nailed it when he booked us a room at the Gaylord Palms! IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The rooms were nice, clean, and had super comfortable beds (my 3 requirements), had a HUGE family pool (as well as an adult pool that we didn't get to enjoy), 4 water slides, splash zone, beach bar that served you at your chair, a sports bar with a two story TV, loads of Gluten Free food options (HUGE stress for me when we leave home ), and basically EVERYTHING you need or could ever want in a hotel! There was NO reason to leave at all!!!!!!

Kacey LOVES the water! She could live IN the pool or beach and never leave!

This guy played basketball IN the water with some new buddies and ran around on the water slides with Kacey ALL DAY LONG!
Nailed it! :)
We tested out our GoProHero under water and it was SOOOOO fun! We let the kids wander around the pool and slides with it and make their own videos! I can't even tell you how cute they are! (I just need to figure out how to share them!) BEST PURCHASE OF ALL TIME!

Our friend from middle/high school/college plays for the Miami Marlins and hooked us up with tickets....so we obviously needed to load up on Marlins hats and go cheer him on! The ESPN fields were AMAZING and it was just really cool to be there and watch him play!  We are about 10X cooler in our kid's eyes because we know someone on the team! WAHOO!!!!!

We don't buy our kids souvenirs on trips because they would blow our money on trinkets and things that they will never use once we get home! Instead.....we make them earn money before a trip and they can choose what they want...AND PAY FOR IT!  Collin picked this super sweet tattoo and Kacey got a hair wrap that is SO cool!  I am generally really impressed with how they choose to spend their money, and annoyed with how long it takes them to decide if they are really going to part with their funds! (when it is OUR money.....it takes about .01 seconds to decide "yup! I NEED it!)

I hope you all are enjoying the beautiful spring weather! It has been in the 80's here and I am LOVING it!  I am not exactly looking forward to the hotter weather to come.....but DEFINITELY looking forward to many beach and pool days!

Sweet Suits

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

I have a slight obsession with this bralette style bathing suits! I am small in basically every sense of the word....so this style just really works for me. I am also not one that can sit and relax at the pool or beach for more than 10 minutes so it allows me to get in the pool or ocean and really play with my kids without worrying about anything "falling out".

I am pretty sure that I haven't purchased a matching suit in at least 5 years.  I am not sure if mix matched suits are still in style....but  I still love it so I am going with it.  I usually just buy 1-2 black bottoms to make sure that they match all of my tops and then just switch the tops out. Today is the LAST day for the $10 bottoms with purchase of a top! That's cheaper than Target bottoms!!!!

I do have at least 5 bathing suit tops at all times, because we live in Florida and spend every day in the water from may-september.  I like to switch them up!

I am not really a fan of one piece suits for myself because I am short, and I just feel like they make me look even shorter.  I was a lifeguard every summer when I was in high school-college and I am pretty sure that wearing a speedo daily has made me want to steer clear of them now.  I did purchase this suit on super sale in Rio Print for our Tahiti trip this summer just in case I feel the need to switch it up.

We are planning some fun in the sun this Spring Break for our kids...and I am so excited about getting out in this amazing weather!!!!!

Magic St. Patrick's Day Pudding

Surprise your favorite kids with a "MAGIC SNACK!!!"  All you have to do is buy Instant Pistachio pudding.....milk.....have a glass bowl.....and get to work! Definitely throw away the box because that is a total giveaway....but just let the kids pour the powder into a glass bowl....and when you add the milk it magically turns green!!!!!! TADA!

This picture makes me laugh! I am pretty sure he was 2 or 3 here as we made the pudding....and he had obviously been eating green food all day long!  I have had this as a snack on St. Patrick's Day since I was a kid and love keeping the tradition alive!

Check out some of our other ideas from last years post here! It's not to late to plan your Green Party now!!!!

Weekends Are For Baseball

This weekend was a great one! A full blown Baseball weekend that I honestly never pictured myself doing when I was dreaming about having kids! I am not sure why, my husband played baseball and I used to go to his games and see his love of the game when we were in high school....but I just never pictured having my own kids play baseball.  For me, it was kind of boring.....AND VERY LONG!

But this little guy has changed me! He has made me LOVE watching him play baseball! He has made me look forward to spending a weekend on the sidelines cheering for him and every one of his teammates.  I welcome my role as "baseball  mom" and LOVE it!

I don't get nervous, I just sit and watch my little catcher do his thing!  He is possibly the smallest kid on the team....and guards that plate like he is HUGE! It kind of blows my mind!

I also get to watch my man out there coaching these little guys! Never raising his voice, never speaking anything but sending positive vibes....and doing what he loves with a group of great coaches.

Just seeing his love of the game....makes it so I have no choice but to lOVE this game also!

I guess I really don't HAVE to love the game....but I do! And I am actually learning a good majority of the rules....or at least more than I ever imagined I would know.

This picture cracks me up! He looks like he is a serious, dip chewing, hard core catcher!

I mean...this smile!

We went out to dinner and discussed nicknames for all of the kids.  Collin received TWO nicknames.....1-Fabio (he is NOT a fan of this nickname lol) 2-Flash (this kid is FAST!)

We are SUPER lucky to have a GREAT group of parents, coaches, kids, and not to mention a dad on the team that takes the most AMAZING PICS, and streams the games LIVE so that grandparents out of state can watch these boys play!
These boys kicked tail this weekend, played their hearts out, and made us so beyond proud!  It was our first weekend tournament where we stayed in a hotel and had a BLAST!!!!!!

Tomorrow I am going to be doing a fun post on "what's in my baseball mom bag"! I have learned SOOOOO much about the necessities of a FULL day at the ball field!

DIY Felt Easter Eggs

I climbed up in the attic and  took down our Easter decorations this past weekend and had totally forgotten about my felt eggs that I made last year! I LOVE THEM!!!!!!

You can check out our tutorial here! I purchased the "Big Felt Balls" from The Felt Pod, but I am sure you can purchase on etsy as well.  If you order now...you have plenty of time to receive them....make them....and enjoy them before Easter!

Don't forget.....we are shipping our "The Luckiest" shirts with a free upgrade to Priority Mail to allow you to enjoy them! Kid sizes sold out, so don't wait too long!

I hope you all are having the best week! For me it seems to be dragging on for some reason, which I am not upset about! I LOVE a slow week because it makes me feel like I have plenty of time to get everything checked off of my never ending To Do List!
